Dormer’s a243 is a long series aircraft extension drill bit, manufactured to nas907 standard. It comes with a 135 degree split point which both helps with self centering, stopping the point of the drill from skidding over the surface of the material, and also means less force is needed to drill into the workpiece. It has a bright finish to help prevent chips of workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge. The a243 is made with a long overall length but a short flute length which makes it good for stable drilling in areas which might be hard to reach with a conventional drill. It is made from premium high speed steel and is suitable for drilling steels, aluminium and stainless steels and can be used by hand to drill many other materials, making it a very versatile product.
